Our story
About L'Usine Cubain
L'Usine Cubain is a one-of-a-kind trade market located at the heart of the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, at 1 rue des Bons Enfants, 93400 Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine.
In this 1912 industrial building, fifty specialized dealers have made their home since the 1980s. This closed and exclusive space — interior architects, decorators, art directors, antique dealers, collectors — operates by appointment only, away from the tourist circuit of the Puces.
Location
The only trade market of the Puces
Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, world capital of the Puces
Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine is a town in Seine-Saint-Denis, on the right bank of the Seine, north of Paris. It is famous for its Flea Market, the world's largest concentration of antique dealers, attracting more than 5 million visitors per year. The market spans 7 hectares and houses more than 2,000 merchants.
A 4,000 sqm asset at the heart of the market
L'Usine Cubain is located in the south of the town, at the heart of the Flea Market, between the ring road, rue des Rosiers and rue Charles Schmidt. The building benefits from car and truck access on rue des Bons Enfants, and stands in a mixed, mostly commercial environment with quick access to the ring road.
Heritage
A house founded in 1839
The firm J. Cubain et ses Fils was founded in 1839, heir to the former houses Baudon and Coquelle combined. Engineer-builders, they manufactured professional cast-iron stoves for the greatest institutions in France and across Europe.
From 1887, Monsieur Cubain, Engineer of Arts and Manufactures, expanded the firm's international reach. In 1912, the company opened its new factory on rue du Plaisir in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine — the tall sawtooth sheds that can still be seen today.

Suppliers to the world's elite
The 1913 catalogue lists their clients: the Société des Hôtels Ritz, the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits et des Grands Express Européens, the Army, the Navy, the Colonies, the Public Assistance, The Egyptian Hotels Company, The Indian Hotels Company, the Chemins de Fer du Nord, Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée and Paris-Orléans.
Hors Concours — Member of the Jury in Turin, 1911. First Prize at the Ministry of War Competition.

Cubain stoves are now museum pieces, preserved at the Musée Nissim de Camondo in Paris and at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte.
